I hate it when I can't tell who wrote an article. Economist has a blurb today about the 30th anniversary of AIDS. Their charts reflect what is rather than the huge increases of AIDS cases in areas like SE Asia in recent years. It is safe to say billions have been spent on this disease yet this virus which only contains nine genes has confounded scientists' attempts to stop its replication and transmission completely for thirty years.
For those who don't read their AAAS policy alerts, a link to a critique of NSF (pdf) was in today's email.
Love Economist's daily chart today. Who else thinks that Swiss men think higher of themselves than other European men?
