Recently, a conversation with a friend made me look back on different working environments I've had. I think the key to a successful working environment is working with people who love the work that they do. However, even when that isn't the case, management can help improve the working environment but holding to the professed values of the organization. Only when those values are degraded or allowed to degrade do environments start to spin out of control.
Words such as energy, passion, and respect are not simply words invented by marketing or HR but can live within in organization.
