Quality
The doctor in this article seems to think that 99.9% in reading radiology films is okay. This is the second time recently that I've heard someone believe that .1% is acceptable risk in the healthcare field. That equates to one person in one thousand.
Why is it that total quality management (TQM) is considered an important part of manufactoring where only widgets are created when in the medical field, lives are the cost of quality problems?
The article is speaking about outsourcing the reading of radiological film but why can't we increase standard of care with the price difference. Basically, why can't we get better products?
Flea is an example of what not to do on the web. I read samples of his entries. He is a poster child for what not to write on the web.

lessons learned
I feel like I've learned alot in my 16 years of work experience. It's not stopping anytime soon but I thought I would put some of my lessons learned here:
- Bad managers are everywhere but you can learn quite alot from them
- Good managers are good for a reason, learn from them well
- Women make different managers than men do
- Separate subjective views from objective ideas
- Tit for Tat works great in the workplace
- Keep in mind why people work
- Friends last longer than projects
- Keep to one's principles
- One of my fav, there is always another perspective
I should write a book. Nah. I'll never be done learning.
