art

I had a coworker who was really into Legos. Nathan Sawaya is a true artist with the medium.

she and he

I have recently been hearing women complain about working in an all women environment. They say that women are very catty and subversive. However, all men environment is not a conducive working environment either. They tend to be overly aggressive and territorial. And, who believes anymore that success is tied to the sex of a person? Actually, any working environment where diversity is lacking doesn't consistently produce good ideas or products. Vanilla can only produce vanilla.

On the other hand, diversity introduces another set of other issues. People have to learn to work with others who are not like them but I think this is what sparks the good ideas and products. It's each person's experiences and skills that brings out the best (and worst) in others.

On a similar note, is everybody a linguist these days? I can see why linguistics would be in a high demand in the future.

reactions

I noticed today that Netflix's quarterly statements just came out. My logic would dictate that if you did half as well as last year, your stock should be half as much. But, the market doesn't react in that way. Or, if a company's long-term prospects isn't very good but short-term is doing well, the market rewards such behavior.

Actually, it never reacts as what one person's subjective view might think.

Here's the definition of cost of revenue.
In such cases, it's up to the investor to try and identify the items that make up cost of revenues. This determination should be made based upon your understanding of the company and its business.
