consequences

People are starting to feel the pain of U.S. housing. Some of my friends would say that they made their beds, now, they need to lay in it. As for me, I have concerns that of what will happen if this crisis spreads for this problem affects communities.

madness

I'm currently reading books by Anne McCaffrey. I found the book through work in a strange way and now I'm addicted. First, I'm just fascinated by a female science fiction writer. Second, her stories are very entertaining. Where has she been all my life?

Also, I've been to the ESPN page more often in the last two days than in my entire lifetime. I'm doing alright.~smugness~

fun

I am joining the workplace bracketology of March Madness. For me, it's not as much about the game as it is about how I do my research. Is it more important to know the details or is it the market that is most revealing? Anyways, I also love a good underdog story. These are all reflected in my brackets. Let the games begin.

weakness

My coworkers and I were just talking about this show, Are you smarter than a Fifth Grader?, this week. I've discovered over the years, no matter how smart you are, if you take pride in your knowledge, it comes to no good. Yet, our nature is to take delight in other peoples' foibles.

I was reading this article about housing prices yesterday. What I love to hear are stories of those who have done very well in the last couple of years. Those who managed to pay off their mortgages and are now set for retirement.

thoughts

I've been without a computer for several days. My laptop's ac adapter died on me after a long sickness. This made me unhappy with Dell. It did prompt some thought about a computer withdrawal for a set period of time. I think I'm addicted to my computer and particularly, to my Internet connection.

Time away from my computer did allow me to read a few books. Among them, my favorite was John Adams. He was amazing character and I loved how his written communications has left an indeliable marks on his fame.

Friend: Remember the second part of your Christmas gift?
Me: No
Friend: The part that I ordered from Amazon. Remember how it was suppose to arrive in Feb? Well, I got an email saying it's not coming until April.
Me: Ugh. Just cancel it.
Friend: No

Just in time for next Christmas.
