attraction

I think that I am attracted to disasters. I find companies that have a lot of problems to be much more interesting than companies that is running smoothly. If you want to see problems, reporting is a very good area to sit. However, there is a point where you have to recognize if a company is going to sink and swim. Do they have the management staff savy enough to pull the company through or are they just there to watch a sinking ship?

One good thing about disaster mode is that everybody at least recognizes there are problems.

Carly Fiorina would know. She recently wrote a book called Tough Choices.

Hmm...I'm not sure how to comment on Revolution Health, Steve Case's new company.

There is a chasm of differences between working with people in profit and non-profit environment. In the profit world, people are motivated by many factors to do their work including money, manager, and culture. On the other hand, in the non-profit world, people are motivated by much more of the upper tier Maslow's needs. My many years of volunteering with different groups has made me aware of the frustrations involved being a volunteer and leading volunteers. I wish others would recognize the same issues.
