i got the cheese!

Everybody seems to have a XBOX 360 story these days. Now, I have my own. I recently ended up with a Best Buy gift card that I didn't know what to do with. My friend refused the five gift ideas I had and I was running out of days and ideas.

So, I entered the XBOX craze. I didn't realize how popular the XBOX search had become until all the rss feeds started to pop up. I only recently heard about the craziness over this past weekend at Best Buy. Through the Internet grapevine, I heard that there might be more shipments and this was confirmed by the Best Buy's staff. So, once I had the information, my business sense took over. So, I took a guess at the date that Best Buy would ship the product and therefore, when it would have the product available at the stores.

This morning, I got to Best Buy and there were already four people in line at 8AM. I stood there amazed at the number of people standing in front of Best Buy and Target. Not many but much more than I expected. Hacking and coughing, I didn't have to wait long for my prize.

I felt like I was in a mouse maze just like in the book, Who moved my Cheese. There is a strange gratification from reaching the cheese. I got the cheese!

This week, I have made about 4 trips to Best Buy and I don't think I'm on my last.

I'm ahead of the news! And, there's at least 20% premium on the original price. Interesting ideas behind the XBox shortage.

So, Sudoku is the game somebody was talking to me about this weekend.

refreshing ip

I'm having the hardest time refreshing my ip address. My research says that Cox might have a four hour limit on ip addresses. Sigh, customers can't get it as static or as dynamic as they want.

idealists

Idealists make wide jumps. Cliffs and canyons don't seem to bother them. Just heard a discussion on the impact of clean water in the world. It's very Star Trekish to think that one resource could bring world peace. It did make me curious about the Rotary Club.

those darn marketers

Discover Card's new ad has a cute elf whose eyes move to where you place your mouse cursor. Somebody is taking the idea that if you interact with something, you are more likely to click on it to the next level. Those tricky marketers.

for me

Just imagine a InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 and XBOX 2. I need some generous friends.

to my number one fan

George, the definition of obsession:
An influence, notion or fixed idea, which persistently assails or vexes so as to discompose the mind; the uncontrollable desire to dwell on an idea or emotion, frequently involving an urge toward some form of action.

free for all

I use Wikipedia all the time. I have never had a problem with the information.

What is collective intelligence? Why diversity matters in collective intelligence?

being organized

I was just thinking that I need an online calendar. I need to be as organized with my personal events as my work events. Google might be introducing a calendar soon enough. Yahoo's calendar doesn't look too bad either. I'll wait to compare.

what people do for christmas

Christmas lights at someone's home. I'm still trying to figure out if it's just great video editing or a spectacular show.
