ideas

BayBioIMPACT 2005 is a paper on some of ideas arising from Northern California life sciences. We are seeing the birth of another technology movement.

Speaking of movement, French prime minister calls unrest a special movement. I think the Jacobins used the same word.

I'm just tickled and surprised at Microsoft's creativity and cultural understanding. Ready 2005 in Korean (Dick Hardt), translation is provided. I would warn you to turn down the volume. If you scroll down further on Dick's blog, you can find a funny graphic on women and money. Dick's presentation at OSCON is also amusing and educational.

I feel like I've been sleeping for the last couple of years. Coverpop is neat! XML & Flash is my work right now. Any of these gifts will do for me.

Reviewing the cellphone coverpop reminded me of an idea I have about information privacy. Information should only have to follow privacy laws when it exists connected to person's identification. For example, who cares if you have one of the phones listed in cellphone coverpop. Or, who cares that your car title data is public if your name, address isn't known. Data isn't discriminatory as information needs to be.
