luck

I recently heard a CEO comment on the value of luck on the job. Basically, he said if he could pick luck or being good, he would pick luck. There is a story in the bible that talks about a guy who escapes death by his siblings and ridicule by his family to become the most important person behind the pharoah in Egypt. I always found the guys like that interesting because it seems nothing can deter their providence and who they are to become.

In Asia, luck is everything. Some people believe China's currency peg decisions may be affected by superstitution. Western views on business are not really so different. Both seem to have this immutable relationship with the unknown.
